OTC0775

Subject: Oldham C. T. one of 366-369 (FBU 825-8)
Location: Mumps, Oldham
Date: early 1950s

This fascinating view illustrates well the scale of change in the Mumps area over the last sixty years. The most significant change has been the almost total elimination of housing from the area, once packed with terraced houses albeit not always of the best quality.

The bus is on the V circular service, which ran anti-clockwise to the Ordnance Arms in Glodwick. These Crossleys were used when new on the 10/3/4 Limited Stop services but were soon found wanting and used on gentler services such as this circular service.
