This splendid shot of Oldham 234 is taken at the junction of Peter Street and George Street, long since buried under various shopping precints. The building of the Bull's Head Hotel behind remarkably still survives, however, as an aid in pinpointing the current location which is at the exit from the Spindles car park. This bus was one of the first post-war buses delivered to Oldham, which were used to replace the last trams on the Manchester-Waterhead service. It was common practice at the time to park buses on this town centre street, despite the garage being only about half a mile away!
