Subject: Bradford C. T. 724 (DKY 724) Chassis: Karrier W Body: East Lancs H37/28F Date: 22-Sep-1963 Location: Bolton, Bolton Road
This fascinating shot shows the junction at Bolton at its maximum extent. The wires for the Greengates and Saltaire trolleybuses come from straight ahead and turn to the right of the picture. The Eccleshill service came from behind the camera towards where 724 has come from. The 34 to Bankfoot terminated here and used the short bit of curve visible top left as part of the loop. The wires going straight across and curving from top centre to the right were links from Thornbury depot to the Saltaire and Greengates routes.
As if that was not enough for one photograph, the closed Bolton trolleybus depot is to the right of 724, at this stage in use as a haulage depot.
