4189 heads a line of traffic that has just arrived at the cross roads in Lydgate, having negotiated the narrow section of Stockport Road before the traffic-calming measures (visible on the previous picture) were introduced. At the time (4th March 1993) Lydgate Service Station, visible on the right, appeared to be a thriving business but it is now gone and the site re-developed.
