By the late eighties the 183 was using Town Square bus station and the Sunday and evening short workings between Oldham and Uppermill started there. I thought it a brilliant idea using the open-top Atlantean 8172 on this service on a hot Sunday and was delighted to be able to travel home from the pub on it once! 8172 is between trips at Town Square.
