Fiddler’s Elbow was at the junction of the A470 with the A472 to Nelson and used to be a fascinating place to watch buses. It was served by Cardiff and all the valley municipalities with the exception of Aberdare. Rhondda and Red & White also worked services through here.
This vehicle captures two of the valley municipalities in one as it was new as Caerphilly 8 and sold to Gelligaer in 1972. It has come from Nelson via Treharris, the direct road from Nelson came in on the left.
The location has been completely transformed with link roads to the A470(T) and there is now a large roundabout here.
