Whilst I prefer photographs of buses on service there is a place for photographs of them at rest also. Oldham's garage was particularly spacious, able to hold the whole fleet of over two hundred and thirty buses under the one roof. Although it has stood the test of time well, there has been constant change to suit the longer lengths and different maintenance requirements of each new generation of buses.

The garage was always a place to seek out the unusual, buses that had been withdrawn or acquired and it was also a place with own particular atmosphere. In Oldham's case it has also been used to store a considerable variety of vehicles over the years, although these will be covered separately.
