Additional information:
1333 heads towards Stalybridge followed by an SHMD Atkinson single-decker on the 154A to Micklehurst. The boundary between Stalybridge and Ashton is in the dip in the background and this section of overhead was owned by SHMD. It was latterly maintained by Ashton but this arrangement led to problems at abandonment. The Stalybridge section of overhead survived the closure by a considerable period whilst arguments continued about who should remove it.
