A lot of stonework cleaning took place in the locality in 1971/2, as the bank (by this date owned by National Westminster) can now be seen to be back to its original colour. In the foreground the new bus station is nearing completion whilst passing behind is one of the Stockport PD3s transferred to Oldham in 1971 and still running in Stockport livery.
