Despite being two years old, 79 looks absolutely pristine in this view and is presumably still in its original paintwork as the Roe coachwork transfer is still visible on the waistrail just before the entrance.

It is carrying a board for Humphreys' Coaches of Pontypridd, on whose licence it was almost certainly operating. It is possibly on its way back from Barry but may even have been an excursion here. The passengers may be visiting the church dedicated to Saint Tathan but they are more probably in Mustow’s cafe which can just be made out on the right.

St. Athan is due to become a centre of luxury car production with Aston Martin starting to build a factory in 2017 on the site of the former airbase there.
