Seen at the former trolleybus terminus in Treforest, by this time used by the Wood Street service and not long before the service there ceased, Metro-Scania demonstrator VWD 452H was one of a pair that toured the area on several occasions. I had first encountered this vehicle two years earlier in Newport, a demonstration from which some significant business arose. The visit to Pontypridd also led to orders, but this time only for three vehicles in total.
The combination of Metro-Scania saloon, conductor and Automacheckit (or Bellgraphic) ticket machine would, I imagine, have been unique to Pontypridd.
