109 had entered service the previous month and, as was always the case, Merthyr Tydfil Transport are using their newest buses on the Cardiff route.

Heading the opposite way behind 109 are a couple of Cardiff Ailsas whilst turning from Wood Street and following 109 is a Willowbrook-bodied Bristol VRT from the same fleet. Behind the bus is the Brains brewery which vacated this site in 2000.
