More detail of the bulkhead and the light switches.
The shaft with handles for sounding the bell was on both sides but there was only one bell at each end and therefore the bell had to be sounded on the left-hand side in the direction of travel to ensure the driver could hear it. This complication implies that the bell was only intended for conductor's use.
