Subject: National Welsh 7 (C107 HKG) Chassis: Ford Transit 190D Body: Robin Hood B16F (on Dormobile shell) Location: Barry Island, Station Approach Road Date: c.May-1988
The B3 service made a clockwise loop at the Barry Island terminus and 7 is seen here in front of what had been the Barry Island Butlin's camp. This was the last new Butlin's camp and was open from 1966 to the end of 1986. It was re-opened as the Majestic Barry Island in 1987, later becoming The Barry Island Resort. However, it closed again in 1996 and was sold for housing development, however at the time of writing the area visible in this photo is just a car park.
