Subject: MetroCoach 1528 (GWU 528T) Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU3E/4R Body: Plaxton Supreme C53F Location: Oldham, Town Square bus station Date: mid-1980s
This Leopard started off in the Bingley’s fleet (the former United Services operation) but moved to Huddersfield and is carrying the red and cream MetroCoach livery. It was quite an unusual sight on the 365.
This went on to be one of the last of 110 Leyland Leopards in the Yorkshire Rider (and its predecessors) fleet and was one of those that participated in a final tour on 23rd April 1995, with most survivors being withdrawn soon afterwards.
From an original negative in the David Beilby collection taken by Stewart J Brown.
