N2978 was a vehicle ordered by Red & White but delivered to National Welsh. This view shows it just after delivery but unfortunately it is damaged goods as the panels around the rear wheel arch have got damaged. Whilst National Welsh would have been entitled to refuse to accept the vehicle, assuming it arrived in that condition, practical considerations might see National Welsh carrying out the repair and billing whoever was responsible for the damage.

This photograph illustrates well the later rear panel arrangement. On earlier Nationals the registration plate had been just to the left of the grille but immediately above the rear bumper. This later arrangement gave a clear space for advertising.
