The 343 on this occasion has been diverted due to road resurfacing through Grotton. It was a challenging diversion as it involved a very sharp left turn from Cover Hill Road back towards Lydgate, a turn that is difficult even in a car and almost certainly involved a reversal. From Lydgate it came across Platting Road to Scouthead where 53146 is seen here, turning towards Oldham. It would turn down Stamford Road before Waterhead and revert to its normal route in Lees.
