NBU502KingStreet

Vehicle: Oldham 402 (NBU 502)
Location: King Street, Oldham
Date: unknown

402 is largely original but has an asymmetrical tin front as the near side has been fitted with a panel containing a brake cooling vent. The fleet numbers are in an unusual position that seems to have been the normal place to put them after repaints for a while.

The building to the right is the garage of the Henly Organisation. This originally belonged to the Paragon Motor Company who also operated coaches for a while in the 1920s and 1930s.

The building at the rear of the bus is the King Street Presbyterian Church which was demolished in 1996.

From the David Beilby collection.
