Subject: Rhondda 330 (NTG 141)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1
Body: Weymann B44F
Location: Pontypridd, Sardis Road
Date: mid-1950s

This batch of four Tiger Cubs was new with Michelin Metallic C20 tyres on the front and D20 tyres at the back, the really notable feature being the use of single tyres, assisted by an unladen weight of just 5t 12 cwt. The single rear tyre is just about visible in this view.

330 pulls out past a Bebb's Crossley when the service ran only to Pontyclun. From 19th February 1956 a new Pontypridd to Porthcawl service was introduced and the short-lived route number 142 disappeared. It was so little in use at the time that the leaflet referring to the withdrawal of the service doesn't even refer to it!
