Subject: Western Welsh U1161 (382 KTG)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1
Body: Park Royal B45F
Location: Cardiff, Westgate Street
Date: 29-May-1976

After a spell working from Bridgend and being renumbered U1161 former Rhondda 382 ended up working from the Western Welsh Cardiff depot. It would be withdrawn before the end of the year and sold to Frank Cowley (by this time at Heywood) and almost immediately for scrap.

It is working the 333 service to Church Village which around 1967 had some journeys changed to run via Radyr and Morganstown instead of Whitchurch. These were the two evening journeys plus two in the afternoon. This is one of the latter.

The service was the subject of much change after that and only really settled down, oddly, on deregulation. This use of a former Rhondda vehicle on the service was the precursor to Porth depot taking over its operation around 1981.
