Subject: Western Welsh H4464 (478 UNY)
Chassis: AEC Regent V 2MD3RA
Body: Northern Counties H37/28F
Location: Cadoxton, Church Road
Date: late 1976?

In contrast to a few years earlier when Western Welsh Regent Vs moved from Barry and Cardiff to Porth, this Regent has moved the opposite way. I suspect this move came at the same time as several Renowns left Porth in exchange for Atlanteans as Porth had started to move to one-man double-deck operation. Although at this stage only for schools and works journeys Porth suprisingly took a lead in DD one-man operation in the fleet, given the otherwise slow adoption there.

As the 353 was joint between Cardiff and Barry depots it isn't possible to determine from which depot H4464 is working. It is working the winter service 353 from Cadoxton to Cardiff - in summer the service ran via Barry Island and was numbered 354.

In the right background is Cadoxton Methodist Church (now Hope Church) which dates back to 1862 when Cadoxton was just a small village. The small bell tower at the front was removed by 2017.
