Subject: Bradford C. T. 798 (BDJ 86) Chassis: BUT 9611T Body: East Lancs H35/28R Location: Bowling, Wakefield Road Date: 15-Aug-1965
798 poses under the bridge on Wakefield Road in Bowling. Clearance here was limited and the wires had to be offset to provide sufficient clearance from the vehicle, something that would no doubt have resulted in a speed restriction at this point. Access to Bowling depot was further up Wakefield Road in the far background. Although the wiring in Bowling depot yard was a frequent port of call on trolleybus tours, it doesn't seem to have been included on this occasion.
The Wakefield Road services seem to largely have escaped the attention of photographers, except in the city centre, and so it is good to be able to include a few photographs of this important trolleybus corridor which had a three minute headway on Saturday lunchtimes and four minutes through most of the rest of Saturday.
