62 was one of the Lohner Großraumwagen trams new in 1960 and withdrawn in 1989.
Work started in 1979 to reconfigure the tracks round the city centre as a one-way loop and after that trams from the Hungerburgbahn Talstation (which didn’t fit easily on the small displays on these trams!) would run through Südtirolerplatz on the way to Bergisel, but not in the opposite direction.
