Subject: Ashton C.T. 24 (ATJ 895) Chassis: Crossley Mancunian Body: English Electric H30/24R Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr works Year: 1936
Ashton bought a total of eighteen Crossley Mancunians in addition to four earlier Condors, forming quite a sizeable portion of the motorbus fleet. They had a variety of bodies, although later ones tended to have Metro-Cammell frames at least, often finished by Crossley. However, two in 1935 and six in 1936 had English Electric bodies, 24 being one of the latter, seen here during its tilt test.
