Additional information:
One of a batch of twelve bought to replace trams from the Oldham, Ashton and Hyde Tramway Company, which was taken over in 1921. These were mainly used on the Oldham and Denton routes. They were the last new trams for Ashton.

This car has track brakes - 28, 31, 36 and 38 are recorded as being fitted with the Newall track brake.
