Uppermill Bus Station was built principally for the safe loading and unloading of children going to Saddleworth School. However, it also makes a convenient place for buses to turn round and wait, but cannot avoid looking under-utilised at such times. Due to redevelopment the bus station shown here was closed in June 2006 and a replacement opened on the same site. 5312 waits to depart for Manchester Piccadilly, 23rd March 1997.
