Occasionally over the years buses have had cause to use Platting Road from Scouthead across to Lydgate as a diversionary route to avoid a closed section of road. On 4th July 1997 what appears to be Atlantean 4546 has just done that and is taking care at the tricky junction with Oldham Road at Lydgate to make sure it doesn't get grounded. The reason for this particular diversion is now lost in the mists of time.
