This bus had been new as Caerphilly UDC 17. It initially carried the same number in the Rhymney valley fleet but was renumbered to 70, as seen here, in 1977 to make way for new deliveries.
The Paul Madeley DIY store chain was established by Paul and his brothers after his illustrious football career, mainly with Leeds United, came to an end. They sold the chain in 1987.
