West Mon/Islwyn vehicles seem to have been rarely photographed in the centre of Ystrad Mynach for some reason although they appeared on this service every two hours at least. Their better-known 36 service from Cardiff to Tredegar just skirted the edge of town.

27 went on to be the last surviving Leyland Leopard in the Islwyn fleet, running until July 2001.
