23 was the only one of the quartet of Willowbrook-bodied PD2s to remain in service at the time West Mon became Islwyn. It is living on borrowed time here as it would be withdrawn the following month, replaced by new Leopard 23. It never carried Islwyn fleet names but its spirit lived on a few years as it sat in the corner of the yard under some trees, being used for spares and gradually going green.
