When new as Yorkshire Woollen 408, this coach had the more unusual Y-type front with the destination blinds below the windscreen, but at some stage it had been rebuilt with a later Y-type front which had a different grille as well as destination equipment on the front dome.
It went through many owners during its life, passing to Hebble in 1970 and being renumbered 47 in 1971. It kept the same number when it transferred to National Travel (East) in 1973 but then had no fleet number with National Travel (Midlands) where it moved in 1974 or National Travel (West) from 1977. It was sold to Western Welsh in Apr-1978 but probably only ever carried National Welsh fleet names. It only ran for National Welsh in 1978 and was sold for scrap.
It is seen on layover at Crosville's Liverpool depot having, judging by the windscreen sticker, having worked up to Liverpool as an 871 but is now set up to work back on the motorway to Barry as an 872.
