Subject: Bradford C. T. 747 (EKU 747) Chassis: BUT 9611T Body: Roe H33/25R Location: Shipley, Bradford Road Date: early-1960s
747 whisks its passengers towards Bradford - at this stage Shipley was a separate Urban District and did not become part of Bradford until 1974.
The building behind shared a significant event with Bradford's trolleybuses, as both were opened to the public on Saturday 24th June 1911.
The Prince's Hall Picture House was named after the current Prince of Wales but significantly, by the time it opened, he had become King and the first night's programme included a film of the Coronation.
The cinema survived many years, becoming a multiplex known as Studio 1234, later Unit 4 and finally Shipley Flicks. It closed in 2000 and was soon demolished and redeveloped for housing.
