Subject: Bradford C. T. 701 (DKY 3)
Chassis: Sunbeam MF2
Body: East Lancs H35/28RD
Location: Bradford, Hall Ings
Date: 24-Mar-1963

701 passes along Hall Ings in the period it was developing as a major through road, but prior to the central reservation being built. The outbound wiring now runs round the roundabout but the spacebar remaining unused in the span wire shows where the original outbound wiring ran. At this time the 89 would run anti-clockwise around Britannia House to terminate. Not only would there be several changes to the wiring but within a couple of years the 89 would be linked with the Thornton service to give the cross-city 7 route.

701 was the only one of the batch with rear doors and it also had the side destination display over the middle window - this can just be seen on the rather dark nearside of the trolleybus.

From an original negative in the David Beilby collection, from the collection of D. Butterfield and G. Butland.
