90 has just passed the junction with Bridge Street, down which the R31 and its successors used to travel to get from Tonypandy to Trealaw until it was closed as a through road.
On the other side of that junction stood the once-dominant Methodist Central Hall which can be seen in the next photograph on this route, of National Welsh H7965 (ETX 486C).
