This unusual Seddon inter-urban demonstrator is seen here on display at a trade show and is included in this gallery as it worked this service regularly for a period. It was provided by Seddon as cover for Huddersfield's RUs which were being converted from dual-door to single-door.

I had seen the vehicle from a distance a few times and wondered what it was. Then one day (9th May 1973 to be precise) I was waiting to catch a bus to Huddersfield and saw it approach. I was so busy looking at what it was I nearly missed it as it hadn't occurred to me what it was doing! I suspect that happened with a few passengers who didn't realise what it was - although looking at the photograph the body does bear quite a resemblance to the Willowbrook-bodied Reliances that came from Hanson.

I understand this bus ended up in Australia.

From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
