This photograph was taken on 3rd April 1999 on an unplanned diversion and it was only by chance that I came across it. I can only assume there had been an accident on the normal route as the road was closed up to the Horse and Jockey from Uppermill and all traffic diverted through Diggle village, hence the long queue of cars behind 4044.
