I remember these forward-entrance AEC rebuilds of Hanson very well, they were the mainstay of the service in the sixties, particularly at weekends when it was busy. They would shiver and shake their way up Standedge, but always made it and provided welcome variety as AEC double-deckers were otherwise just not seen in Saddleworth.

I need to confirm the identity of this but believe it to be 361 (TVH 497), which was new as full-front AEC Regal III 295 (EVH 805) with a Duple body. Rebuilt by Plaxton in 1954 it was then re-numbered 326. It attained its final form, as seen here when climbing out of Milnsbridge, in 1961.
