Subject: Pilgrim Coaches 77 (TPJ 277S)
Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU5B/4R
Body: Duple Dominant II C53F
Location: Hull, off Short Street
Date: 1980s

The 962 service ran from Hull to Liverpool and Pilgrim Coaches 77 is parked up in an area off Short Street ready to work it. In the background can be seen the roof of the old Paragon bus station.

This vehicle was new to Grant of Fareham (Hellyer's) and later ran in both the main Hants and Dorset fleet and that of its Shamrock and Rambler subsidiary as 3091 before running for the Pilgrim Coaches unit, based in Southampton.

Another coach from the Pilgrim fleet ended up visiting Saddleworth regularly - 22 (BJT 322T) ran for Yelloway and appeared regularly on the 556 service from Manchester to Halifax. 77 also ended up under the same umbrella, working for SUT for a while.

From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
