U1271 has crossed the railway line up the Rhondda Fach, still open at this time to bring coal down from Maerdy Colliery. It has just left Ferndale and is making its tortuous way up to Blaenllechau, the end part of the route just being visible at the top right.

The bus already shows the destination for the other end of the route, but as it will soon start a long loop round Blaenllechau maybe the driver has an excuse!
