A nearly-new 99 passes under the bridge that carried the Pontypridd, Caerphilly and Newport line from Pontypridd to Penrhos Junction, near Caerphilly. This line had recently closed to all traffic, on 31-Jul-1967 and had once featured a halt just off to the left known as Tram Road, after the earlier name for Broadway of Tramroad.
This location has changed significantly, with the railway formation being used for a new road, but the bridge abutment on the right remains as link with the past.
