54 picks up outside Woolworth's, always the stop description for buses in the Maerdy direction. Woolworth's managed to outlast Rhondda Buses by almost exactly eleven years here, this store closing on 5th January 2009.

At this stage, although 54 is owned by Stagecoach, there is no visible evidence although the legal lettering on the nearside may have been changed.
