Subject: Thomas Bros GNY 764 Chassis: AEC Regal III O962 Body: Longwell Green B34R Location: Barry, St. Nicholas' Road Date: c.1959
Numerically the first of the Regal IIIs, Rhondda 64 (GNY 764) was overhauled on withdrawal in 1958 and transferred to fellow BET operator Thomas Bros. of Port Talbot. It may be during that overhaul that it received the sliding ventilators which had only been fitted on the 1946 Weymann-bodied Regals (and may possibly have been recovered from one of them). It ran for Thomas Bros. for about two years.
