Grant Lyon and Co. Ltd. were, like Eagre, contractors specialising in railway civil engineering and also, like Eagre, based in Scunthorpe. This was no coincidence as David Grant and Leslie Lyon had been directors at Eagre before forming Grant Lyon in 1951. The two companies were to be merged in 1973.

However, GNY 766 is seen far from Scunthorpe in Deal, parked off Union Road in what is now a pay and display car park except that on Saturdays a section of it is used for what is currently a thriving market.

The large building behind was Deal Congregational Church but closed in 1974. More recently it has found a new life as the Landmark Centre, a community hall used by a variety of organisations.
