36300 shows that it is a very tight corner going from Station Road to Sam Road in Diggle. It is hard to imagine that in the days of the North Western Albion Aberdonians they used to use this junction for turning.

Behind are the western portals of Standedge railway tunnels (the canal tunnel passes under the railway here and the mouth of that tunnel is behind the photographer). Those on the right are the original single line tunnels which closed in 1966 but are used for emergency vehicle access, hence the yellow signs above the portals.
