There were one hundred of the UNB-registered PD2s in the Manchester fleet and they became the typical Manchester bus, particularly in the north of the City where Leylands were predominant. 3604 was one of the later vehicles, most of which had a shorter life due to the conversion to one-man operation. Earlier members of the class were overhauled and repainted in orange by SELNEC, but 3604 and other higher-numbered members of the batch were not and 3604 was withdrawn in early 1972. It was photographed leaving Uppermill on a lovely autumn day around 1970.
