Subject: Oldham C. T. 144 (GBU 144D) Chassis: Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 Body: Roe H43/34F Location: Miles Platting, Oldham Road Date: 10-May-1969
On a very wet day Peter Thompson has wisely sought shelter under the railway bridge by Miles Platting station. Oldham 144 passes the Swan, a Wilson’s house which latterly became a Belhaven pub before closure and demolition in the mid-1990s.
In the background is the Playhouse Theatre which seems to have survived as a cinema until 1970 before eventually also being reduced to rubble in the 1990s.
