Cardiff's buses were soon to become just a memory in Merthyr Tydfil as they ceased working the joint service only about six weeks after the date of this photograph; they last ran on 31-Jul-1971.

546 was one of the last of the batch to enter service, in early 1970, and was allocated to Sloper Road depot which worked this service. It remained in service with Cardiff until mid-1982.
