Subject: Liverpool C. T. 88 Maker: Electric Railway and Tramway Carriage Works, Preston Truck: Brill 21E Seating: ?/22 Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr works Date: c.1899
Liverpool 88 was an early Preston car. The presence of a coupler and lack of trolley pole give the impression of a trailer car. However, the coupler would have been intended for coupling with the German-built trailers which were part of the rather eclectic early fleet for Liverpool. This type of tram was known as a 'Little Emma' in Liverpool.
