768 was considered as a coach when new and the mainly cream livery reflected this, even though the bus outline Willowbrook body looked otherwise. It is on a Leyland Tiger Cub chassis, fitted with a two-speed rear axle.
The service it is working is of note, as it is on the extension to Llandudno referred to in the history. The way it operated was that a lot of workings ran as early duplicates (before the first normal departure) from Leeds to Manchester and then continued as duplicates on the 0845 departure to Llandudno. This was effectively a new through service but had been created by a rather flexible interpretation of the duplication rules. In time the Traffic Commissioners took an interest and clamped down on this activity somewhat.
