Subject: Hebble 449 (KHD 905)
Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU3/3RT
Body: Plaxton Panorama C49F
Location: Oldham, Bottom o’th Moor
Date: c.April 1971

Despite the lack of route number, this coach must be working the X98 as the X97 left Oldham along Lees Road.

New as Yorkshire Woollen 942, this was one of many vehicles transferred to Hebble in 1970. It kept the same fleet number with Hebble at first (although it was renumbered 22 in November 1971) and it would seem the fleetnames had still to be changed.

The whole area round Mumps looks quite neat as the roundabout works have been only recently finished. Very conspicuous in the wall on the railway causeway is where it had to be removed to put in a new signal following the closure of Mumps No. 3 signalbox at the north of the station.

From an original negative in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
